Training course on Seaweed Cultivation and Biotechnology

Møreforsking is involved in various international research collaborations. We are currently involved in a project aimed at building knowledge and capacity for sustainable development of a seaweed industry in Tunisia.

"Tahaleb" means seaweed in Arabic, and it is also the name of the capacity-building project. Møreforsking contributes by sharing expertise and knowledge from Norway. Dr. Celine Rebours has been in Tunisia to participate in a 5-day course on the cultivation of seaweed and biotechnology. Dr. Rebours provided both theoretical and practical training to Tunisian personnel. A total of 25 individuals attended the in-person sessions, while 40 individuals participated in the online sessions.

The sharing of diverse experiences and expertise to improve the utilization of seaweed worldwide contributes to both sustainability and value creation within the global seaweed sector.
